Overview

ITW Foils is seeking a qualified Maintenance Engineer to support the Newburyport, MA facility. This position is directly responsible for the coordination and/or execution of maintenance and contractor activities for the facility and production equipment. The roll-to-roll manufacturing processes involve equipment such as web coaters, embossers, slitters, and high vacuum PVD systems. The scope of responsibilities include, but is not limited to: preventative maintenance, repair, retrofits, troubleshooting, project management, and assisting/directing contractors.

Summary: Directly responsible for the assignment and coordination and/or execution of activities within the Maintenance group to ensure a productive workforce that supports the facility. Oversee planning and preparation of work orders for work to be performed by the Maintenance department to ensure the plant is maintained in a safe, reliable, and efficient manner.

Responsible for servicing roll-to-roll production equipment, including web coaters, embossers, slitters. The scope of services to be performed includes, but is not limited to: preventative maintenance, repair, retrofits, troubleshooting, and assisting/directing contractors

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

PM Program

Responsibility for modifying existing and implementing new PM tasks for facilities and production equipment in order to minimize unplanned downtime.
Coordination with production to schedule time to perform PM tasks.
Work Request System

Monitor work request to ensure:

Proper prioritization.
Accurate entry of work performed, time, and parts used.
Utilization of system data to identify areas for upgrade and/or additional PM.
Equipment Maintenance & Repair

Lead support for complex problems.
Routine work as needed to support mechanics and contractors.
Major planned downtime events

Weekends/holidays possible.
Occasional Off hours support
Capital Projects, minor

Full responsibility for preparing and executing minor projects related to facilities and equipment.
Minor projects are those requiring capital less than $25k and/or those with minimal complexity and/or require minimal coordination.
Spare Parts Inventory

Identify and maintain minimum critical spares for production equipment and essential facilities equipment.
Service Contractors

Primary liaison for service contractors.
Maintain management level relationships with service companies.
Ensure alignment with the appropriate service companies.

Cost, reliability, quality, safety.
Education/Experience

Engineering or Technical Degree with 1 to 5 years experience in a manufacturing role.
Experience with preventative maintenance programs.
Experience with electro-mechanical control systems.
Computer skills: email, work processing, spreadsheets.
Demonstrated experience solving complex problems.
Desired Skills

Working knowledge of high vacuum systems, web handling, roll-to-roll processing, web coating, and web converting.
